Ateu Studio (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates this store and website, powered by Shopify, to provide you with a curated online shopping experience. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit, interact with, or make a purchase from our store.

Shipping labels & carriers

To fulfill your order we generate shipping labels and share necessary delivery details (recipient name, address, phone/email if provided, and parcel details) with postal carriers (e.g., USPS/UPS) and our label provider (Pirate Ship). Carriers use this information to transport and deliver your package and to provide tracking.

Vendors & apps we use (data processors)

We share limited personal data with trusted providers so they can perform services for our store. These providers only process your data under our instructions and applicable law.

  • Shopify (Platform & Checkout) – hosts our storefront, checkout, and payments. Receives order info, contact details, device data, and cookies necessary for the store to function.

  • Klaviyo (Email & SMS) – sends transactional messages (order, shipping updates) and marketing if you opt in. Processes your email/phone, name, orders you placed, and engagement events (opens/clicks). 

Klaviyo Text (SMS/MMS) marketing & updates (if you opt in)

If you opt in to SMS, we will send messages about your orders and/or marketing. Message frequency varies. Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. We share your phone number and messaging events with our SMS provider (Klaviyo) solely to deliver these messages and maintain opt-out lists.

  • Pirate Ship (Shipping labels) – creates postage labels and tracking. Receives recipient name, shipping address, phone/email (if provided), and order line items; shares necessary data with the carrier (e.g., USPS/UPS) to deliver your parcel.

  • HideShip (Checkout shipping rules) – controls which shipping options appear based on your cart contents. Uses non-marketing data from your cart and shipping address to apply our rules; it doesn’t send you messages or advertise.

  • Rewind Backups (Back-ups & recovery) – securely backs up store data (including order/customer records) to protect against accidental loss. Data is retained only for backup/restore.

  • Google & YouTube (Sales Channel/Ads/Analytics) – when enabled, helps list products, measure conversions, and run ads. May receive online identifiers (IP, cookies), device info, and event data (page views, add-to-cart, purchases).

  • SellUp – Upsell & Add-ons – renders in-store upsell widgets. Uses cart and product interaction data to show relevant offers; does not process payment details.

We do not sell your personal information. Where we “share” identifiers or online activity with ad partners to measure or personalize ads, you can manage this via our cookie banner preferences.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed to:

  • Fulfill orders
  • Meet legal/regulatory requirements (e.g., taxes — not to exceed 6 years)
  • Resolve disputes or enforce agreements

Backups & retention

In addition to the retention described above, our backup provider (Rewind) stores rolling encrypted backups of store data for disaster recovery. Backup copies are automatically purged on a schedule and are only accessed to restore data if needed.

Force Majeure

We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, weather, fire, flood, earthquake, pandemic, war, terrorism, civil disorder, labor disputes, carrier or logistics failures, utility or internet outages, government actions, or platform/service provider outages (e.g., Shopify, payment processors, CDNs). We’ll use reasonable efforts to notify you and to resume performance as soon as practicable.

Depending on your region, you may request to:

  • Access or correct data
  • Delete your data
  • (EU/UK) Withdraw consent or object to processing
  • Port your data
  • Lodge complaints with authorities
