Customer Returns & Refunds Policy

At Ateu Studio, we take responsible practices seriously—balancing our sustainability with your satisfaction. As a small, independent business, we work hard to ensure your order is prepared with care and accuracy. This policy is designed to protect both you and our business while complying with U.S. federal, state, and international consumer laws.

This Policy Covers:

  • Customer-requested cancellations
  • Returns of unwanted items
  • Exchanges and order amendments
  • Refunds for items meeting our return criteria
  • European Union 14-day cooling-off period

This Does NOT Cover:

Product issues like damage, defect, incorrect items, or missing items — we handle these separately and personally. Please contact us immediately via our support section for any such issue.

Order Cancellation & Refund

  • You may cancel your order within 3 business days from the time of purchase using our Order Cancellation Form.
  • If your order has not shipped, we’ll cancel and issue a full refund.
  • If your order has shipped, return it unopened, unused, and in its original packaging.
  • Return shipping is your responsibility.
  • No restocking fee applies.
  • Refunds are processed within 5 business days of return receipt. Your bank may take 2–10 additional business days to credit the refund.

Returns of Unwanted Goods

  • You may return items within 10 business days of receiving your order.
  • Items must be unused, with original tags and packaging intact.
  • Include your packing slip or order confirmation in the return.
  • You are responsible for return shipping; we recommend tracked postage.
  • Shipping costs are non-refundable.
  • No restocking fee is charged.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Digital downloads
  • Custom or personalized items
  • Used, worn, or damaged items (unless they arrived that way)
  • Items returned outside of the eligible return timeframe
  • Gift cards and final sale items

Exchanges & Order Changes

The fastest way to get what you want is to return your item and place a new order. We do not offer item swaps or post-order alterations. If you want to add or change something, simply place a separate order.

European Union 14-Day Cooling-Off Period

If your order is shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without justification. Items must be unused, in their original condition, with tags and packaging intact. Proof of purchase is required.

Digital Product Exception

By downloading digital content, you waive your right to the 14-day cooling-off period under EU law. Refunds for digital products are not granted once download begins.



State-Specific U.S. Requirements

This policy complies with all U.S. federal guidelines and state-specific refund laws. Our refund and returns policy is prominently posted and complies with federal law and the following state requirements. Please review your state’s laws below:

States with No Mandatory Right to Refund (Policy Must Be Posted): Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. Refunds are at the retailer's discretion unless policy is posted.

Specific State Requirements:

  • California: Must clearly post refund policy unless offering full refund, exchange, or credit within 7 days. If not posted, must accept returns within 30 days.
  •  Connecticut: Policy must be conspicuously disclosed. Without disclosure, customers may return items.
  • Florida: Refund policy must be clearly displayed, or returns allowed within 20 days.
  • Hawaii: Refund policy must be posted or honored if missing.
  • Iowa: Retailers must disclose if no returns are accepted.
  • Maryland: Must post return policies; otherwise, must allow returns within reasonable time.
  • Massachusetts: Must disclose return policy at time of purchase or allow reasonable returns.
  • Minnesota: Must post in bold 14-point type or honor returns in cash.
  • New Jersey: Refund policy must be posted; otherwise, returns or credits allowed within 20 days.
  • New York: Policy must be posted or allow returns within 30 days.
  • Ohio: No posted policy means customer is entitled to a refund.
  • Rhode Island: Without signage, goods may be returned within 10 business days. Utah: Non-refund/exchange policies must be posted or returns must be accepted.
  • Virginia: Policy must be clearly posted unless allowing returns within 20+ days.

This policy is provided for transparency and compliance and will be clearly posted on our website, checkout pages, and order confirmation emails.
